My recent stay at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka from 6–7 March was yet another reminder of why this property remains one of my preferred addresses whenever visiting Osaka. Having reserved a Swiss Advantage Room, I was graciously upgraded to a Swiss Executive Room, which added an elevated sense of comfort and tranquility to the stay. The room offered refined simplicity, thoughtful amenities, and sweeping views above the lively district surrounding —a location that is both vibrant and exceptionally convenient. What truly distinguishes this hotel, however, is its people. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Ms. TYA at the Executive Lounge. During this visit—our second stay—she warmly recognized us upon arrival and welcomed us back with such natural familiarity and grace. Her attentive yet effortless style of service created a sense of genuine hospitality that cannot be taught, only felt. Moments like these reflect the very essence of hospitality: not merely service, but recognition and connection. It is this level of thoughtful care that transforms a pleasant stay into a memorable one. With its seamless location, refined Executive experience, and exceptional team, Swissôtel Nankai Osaka continues to be a place I look forward to returning to whenever my travels bring me back to Osaka. My sincere thanks to the team for another graceful and memorable stay.

The room was very spacious and had what we needed ( robe, slippers, pajamas, hair dyer). One observation: in other Japan hotels, there is a spray bottle of fabric deodorizer. I didn’t see one in our room. I liked the toiletry products and especially liked the fragrance of the hotel. The location is very centrally located. We were there primarily for the sumo tournament. The Edion Arena was less than a 5 minute walk away. Shopping and eating places can be found easily. I should have asked specifically for directions to Dotonbori but accidentally found it by walking through the Ebisu bashi shopping street. Less than 5 minutes away. The front desk staff was very cordial, helpful and gracious. No request seemed too big or small. They gave us directions to places I requested. We requested a late check out and Ms Sakata (sp?) did her best to accommodate our request. There was a sense that the staff cared about our needs. Some other hotels made us feel like we were imposing on them. The staff at this hotel truly exemplifies hospitality. Breakfast buffet food was well prepared and displayed. The hostess (Amy) was attentive. She noticed my husband with a cane and asked of we wanted a table near the buffet It was also reassuring to see how they cleaned each table and chair and vacuumed the area consistently. Housekeeping was efficient and respectful of the do not disturb notice. On one day, I mentioned that we didn’t need our room cleaned but would appreciate a box of tissues, she immediately got one for us. Overall, this was one of my favorite hotels in Japan.

2 nights in suite with executive lounge access was superb.

We stayed for a period of 7 days and we stayed in 2 different rooms due to our bookings. The first room we had was ideal and facilities were great. The second room that they moved us to were called the innovative room at level 24 but we felt that it wasn’t innovative at all. The water kettle area wasn’t ideal because there was no space to put our own water bottles compared to the previous room. The toilet door has a sound when fully closed and there was no place to hang our towels behind the door unlike the first room. Though the bed was really spacious but pillows were too soft for us. Lastly, the TV was not working for the 3 nights we were in the room. We can’t go into Netflix or YouTube. Even though we had people coming in to check at night and the day after it couldn’t be resolved. I guess the connection was really bad in that room. We didn’t have this issue at the other room though. Hope the hotel could improve and ensure their facilities are working well. Thank you!
