No children amenities provided, even requesting for a children’s stool and toilet cover was extremely difficult. Getting to the hotel was extremely challenging by car for the first time and should have been highlighted in the email when reservation has been confirmed.

Location The hotel’s location is truly exceptional. Perched directly above a major hub for both the railway and the subway, it offers incredible convenience for getting around. At the same time, Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori are just a short walk away. Tip: Namba Subway Station has many entrances and exits. If you’re taking the subway, I recommend using Exit 3, then from street level, take the hotel’s dedicated elevator directly to and from the lobby. Facilities Thanks to the hotel’s generous complimentary upgrade for members, I stayed in an Executive Room that was impressively spacious—truly astonishing in scale. It was comfortable and convenient in every way. The only minor drawback was that, despite having ample bathroom space, the design still followed the combined bathtub-and-shower style, meaning you have to shower inside the tub. As an international traveler, I’m not entirely accustomed to this. Membership Perks The hotel’s member benefits are delivered with remarkable generosity. The welcome gift was abundant, all drinks in the minibar were completely free, and in addition to the Executive Lounge happy hour, there was even a special “Platinum Hour” at BAR36 on the top floor—exclusive to members and free of charge. Best of all, they allow late checkout until as late as 4:00 PM at no extra cost. I must give special mention to Marco, who handled my check-in. He was incredibly considerate—anticipating even the details I had overlooked, always putting himself in my shoes, and taking care of everything with such thoroughness that it was almost unbelievable. He is, without a doubt, the best front desk receptionist I have ever met. Please be sure to pass along my heartfelt thanks. Dining The hotel boasts a wide variety of in-house restaurants, which is truly one of its highlights. During this stay, I tried several: - SH’UN: My first meal at the hotel, and a perfect start. Both the food and service were excellent, and the kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) were especially distinctive—definitely not to be missed! - TABLE36: The breakfast at this all-day dining restaurant was abundant and diverse, catering to all kinds of preferences. At the same time, it carried forward the brand’s “pure and natural” and “healthy and energetic” dining concepts. For example, the sorbet was fresh, delicious, and left a lasting impression. - MINAMI: This restaurant left me with mixed emotions, and I’m not sure how to sum it up. Speaking purely of the food, it was absolutely flawless—from the ingredients to the cooking, everything was stunning. However, the indifference of the restaurant team (especially the gentleman in a black suit on the evening of August 29) left me feeling uncomfortable. For example, when ordering drinks, I asked this gentleman for a recommendation. He asked whether I preferred beer, sake, or wine. I clearly replied that I would like him to first recommend a beer. At that moment, I pointed to the beer section on the menu. However, instead of verbally responding, he simply served me the beer I happened to be pointing at. This was not my intention at all—I believe that even if there was a language barrier, he was being overly impatient. In fact, I was still waiting for a recommendation and had hoped to try more options. Later, when it came time for the palate cleanser, he actually asked me whether I had already had mine. Was this professional? Admittedly, it’s a small matter, but if one is so strict and impatient with others, shouldn’t one strive to be even more perfect oneself? Otherwise, isn’t that being lenient with oneself while strict with others? The entire dining experience was filled with this kind of subtle neglect—not enough to make me react on the spot, but enough to leave me feeling uneasy. I admit that on that day, I had no reservation and walked in to dine. And since I had spent the whole day at Universal Studios, my attire was certainly far from elegant. But since the restaurant neither requires reservations nor has a clear dress code (and I don’t believe my attire disturbed or offended other guests), there should be no reason for me to feel I wasn’t given the same respect and treatment as other diners. Anyway, the food here is absolutely worth trying, but before coming, it’s best to make a reservation and dress elegantly—otherwise, you might face the same situation I did. - BAR36: After leaving MINAMI that evening, I came to BAR36. Even though I initially just wanted to redeem my welcome drink, I was treated equally, politely, and warmly, and was given an amazing seat with a great view (same attire, no reservation). This is the warm and friendly Accor Group and Swissôtel I know. Of course, the signature cocktails here are also excellent—worth ordering more! - HANA-GOYOMI: Exquisite food, friendly service, good value for money—an elegant Japanese restaurant worth trying. Overall The hotel’s location is outstanding, the stay is comfortable, the dining is excellent, and the service is warm. Once again, thank you Marco—you were truly wonderful! Combined with the generous member benefits, I highly recommend this hotel to fellow members. Lastly, I’d like to add that the hotel’s LGBTQ+ friendly stance made me feel a strong sense of belonging and warmth. For this, I am deeply grateful.
