The service in swissotel has deteriorated vs my stays many years ago. it took long time to check in and check out, and most of the time the reception is managed by trainees who are not familiar to take queries. example i had made group payment upon check in and i was asking for individual room receipt /invoice and they are not able to provide instantly, it took me 20mins to check out for 6 rooms, similarly took me more than 30mins to check in 3 out of 6 rooms when i arrived. the concierge service is also not satisfied, they were on their phone and not looking at the hotel guests to response to queries. it took long time to get amenities to send to the room while i acknowledge you want to be environmental friendly but having standard amenities in the room would be more convenience instead of waiting more than 45mins to get something delivered to the room. in addition, the person who handled my check in actually complaint to the other staff that he has to handle multiple check in during lunch hours. this service is not acceptable, it is his duty to do the work and it is not guest issue if he didnt get to go lunch as he needs to sort that out with his team.

Overall stay was ok . But amenities & room a little sparse by swisstotel standards. Lounge was ok. Breakfast choice average . Location is superb. Less than a minute walk to Jing’an station entrance . Line 2 from there goes to pudong airport. Around there are many shops and malls Doorman was helpful. Lounge staff were polite Unpleasant experience towards the end as they did not invoice me properly and that resulted in me not getting the nights and status points which I deserve. I had to write to ACCOR to get points reinstated
